Canyonlands National Park

My first ever National Park. I was not really a big nature person until this park, this was the start of it all. I wanted to try something new by taking a road trip through the Utah desert. After doing heavy research and planning, I decided to visit three parks with Canyonlands being the first. As a native Floridian, seeing the vast canyons, steep cliff edges, and miles and miles of pure wilderness, I must admit that it was incredibly breathtaking.

My first stop was at Buck Canyon Overlook for sunrise. I set up my Canon 6D Mark II in the dark and waited for the light. I continued to explore the Island in the Sky district with stops at Grand View Point, Mesa Arch, Shafer Trail Viewpoint, and Upheaval Dome. I concluded the visit with sunset at the Green River Overlook, which was my favorite part of the day. I had plans to visit the Needles district the following day but unfortunately had to skip it due to time constraints. I do plan to return in the future because I hear it is the best part of the park. From that day forward, I made it my goal to visit all the National Parks in the United States. There is such a dynamic range of ecosystems contained within the United States that I cannot wait to explore.
